Impressive Alytus - Telemark Youth Exchange at Notodden 2003-09-28
Read about the impressions from the youth exchange between Alytus and Telemark in Notodden, in the end of September.

The 3th week of learning at school has finished on Tuesday! 20 youngsters from the different schools with teachers and coordinators have left Alytus in the early Wednesday morning. We had an aim to reach Norway. The trip was very hard and took 36 hours: 24 of them we spent on the very small bus and other 12 hours we spent on the ferry. For most of the PIPE project participants it was the first trip on the ferry. The trip at night was very exciting: everybody danced at the disco, sang songs. The country of Sweden left a good impression! At the 18th of September we reached Notodden upper secondary school Everybody was seen in by the host families. The next day we had presentation of what has happened since the event in Alytus, after the opening ceremony in the town square everybody was working in seven different groups: architecture and estetics, healthcare, culture and leasure, business, tourism, infrastructe and communication and documentation group. On Saturday we were sightseeing in Rjukan, Gaustad mountains and Tuddal. Later we had a wonderful party with sauna, bubble bath and solarium. Several participants of this project passed an exciting night in the mountains. On Sunday we spent the day with families. Some of us were in the capital of Norway - Oslo. Somebody just watched movies with their host families. In the evening we visited the Heddal museum, ate traditional Norwegian food and finally we had bowling competition between Lithuania and Norway. On the last day we made a presentation of the group work and shown it for the politicians and others. In the evening we had farewell party. After a great party-time we said good-bye to everyone and left Notodden.
