The PIPE story 2003-02-20
The PIPE story was introduced at the Kick-off conference. Ilona Navickiene was the author and performed it in front of the audience in Tallinn. Unfortunately we can not present the background music, but you find the entire story below.

THE PIPE STORY
by Ilona Navickiene

Once upon a time a handsome Viking ALF had a beautiful dream, that he was given a special mission called PIPE to implement on Earth, that he has to help many people to identify themselves, create spirit of confidence and make the world better.

When he woke up in the morning he started thinking about this dream and what could it mean. He couldn't find the answer, so decided to talk to the County Witch Doctors Council lead by Sven Age. They read from the stars that this great idea, initiated in Vikings lands will spread all over Baltic Sea region and will involve many people to work for common future.

Everyone was amazed with such prediction of the stars. They know, that you must never refuse a beautiful dream and they decided to share this mysterious dream with Kurt Mosbakk, powerful Viking, God of trade and commerce. The selected group, including young Viking Alf, arranged an appointment with God Kurt in Finnmark and when the group arrived, he was enjoying Midnight Sun. God Kurt had very kind heart and understood the importance of good neighbourhood and friendship, so he blessed the group and  promised his assistance.

Kurt suggested that a wild group from Telemark, lead by two Vikings Torbjorn and Egil with their excellent background from skiing, winter climate and fighting behind enemy lines, would add much more value to the mission.

The word of the young Viking's dream and planned mission spread like beautiful spring flowers all over Northern dimension. More and more people joined the mission, including famous Swedish Viking Ake Lindien from Vastra Gotland with his charmig assistant Keili. They decided that it was time to stop crossing swords. Reindeers from Finnmark brought this message to Rovaniemi, Santa Clause home area. His two beautiful Snow-maidens Anne and Lenita encouraged their community to join and make the Northern climate warmer with kind relationship between different nations.

Travelling around, the group of vikings once met noble man  Jan-Eirik, who suggested to go to Murmansk  and meet Shaman lady Irina. Using Irina's spells and Jan-Eirik wisdom, they convinced Murmansk community to join the mission.

So, my dear friends, all Northern nations of the Baltic Sea were very excited, but the difficult task to involve nations in the Southern part still lay ahead. Viking Alf was worried about this and one day with the blessing of the witch doctors and a well equipped Viking long boat Alf set sail for the Baltic shores.

His intuition told him that he must go to Latvia because he had previously met a two beautiful girls named Rita and Inese. Latvian residents living on the shoreline of the Baltic could hear the sound of the Viking horn announcing his arrival. Cesis community led by Rita and Inese met this charming man with a great excitement. They were delighted with Alfs visit and agreed to participate in PIPE mission but there was one condition, that Alf has to travel to Lithuania to Alytus region and invite the local community to join them.

Rita told Alf that he has to meet her friend powerful Lady Rasa. Alf didn't feel confident to travel alone to unexplored land and invited the Senior Witch Doctor Sven Age and Nordic God Knut-Hjorth to accompany him in this special mission.

Three men were kindly met by lady Rasa and her assistants. Their speeches were very impressive and Lady Irena from County Palace invited them to share this idea with the County and meet many fair maidens who were very impressed with this noble idea and especially little fairy Ilona who was overwhelmed.

This group of powerful ladies agreed that it would be significant experience for their community and promised to join the mission but only on one condition that the small community of Rapla in Estonia would be invited. The Lady Irena recommended to talk to Rapla County Goddess Marika.
So the group of wise Vikings navigated their ship to Estonia. Goddess Marika and her community cordially met them and joined the PIPE mission.

The sound of a noble mission PIPE spread all over the Baltic Sea region. All communities agreed that they have to join efforts in order to make the world better. And so the scene was set for a very promising future and the Nordic Gods were happy.

The charming Viking Alf returned to his native land to think over all the possibilities that he had created. He met with his Witch Doctors Council and asked for guidance how can this mission be implemented. The Council told him that at the end of every rainbow is a pot of gold and when it rains the drops of kindness can awake each sleeping spirit. After the first rain each land must look for its own pot of gold and the rain of kindness will bring new prosperity to its people.

The story of PIPE is just beginning, and what lies ahead depends on all us...
