INTERREG III will exist from 2000 to 2006. Interreg
III is divided into 3 stands:
A: Cross-border co-operation between adjacent regions.
The aim is to develop cross-border social and economic centers through common
development strategies
B: Transnational
co-operation between national, regional and local authorities to promote better
integration. Developing new policy on spatial planning and environment
protection are some of the issues. The PIPE project is going to be an Interreg
IIIb project.
C: Interregional
co-operation. In this program co-operation across large distances is important.
The aims are to improve the effectiveness of regional development policies and
instruments through large-scale information exchange and sharing of experience
(networks)
